How do I get to Dockside from Highway 1?
  • Take Exit 44 to merge onto HWY 7 East / Lougheed Hwy toward Port Moody/Port Coquitlam ( travel 6.9 km)
  • Turn left on Barnet Hwy ( travel 2.2 km)
  • Turn right at Ioco Road (travel .8 km)
  • Turn left to stay on Ioco Road (travel 1.6 km)
  • Turn left at Bentley Road, then keep right to turn right on Alderside Road
  • 652 Alderside Road is five houses down on the left side
How do I get to Dockside from Vancouver Airport via Car?
  • Depart from Airport
  • Continue towards Aurthur Lang Bridge
  • Slight left to exit onto SW Marine Dr
  • Continue on Marine Way about 7 kms
  • Turn left on Boundary Road (travel about 6 kms)
  • Turn right on Hastings Street ( travel about 5 kms)
  • Hastings becomes Barnet Hwy (travel about 7kms)
  • Turn left at St. Johns Street (travel about 3kms)
  • Turn left at Ioco Road (travel 800 meters)
  • Turn left at Ioco Road - same name, different road (travel 1.6 kms)
  • Turn left at Bentley Road, then keep right to turn right on Alderside Road.
  • 652 Alderside Road is five houses down on the left side
From Vancouver International Airport via Public Transit?
  • From the Airport, Purchase a 3 zone ticket and board the Canada Line skytrain to New Westminster. There are two train lines available from this station, Expo Line or Millenium Line. You'll know which line you're on because it will be announced in the train at each stop.
  • If you are on the Millenium line, stay on this train until you arrive at Lougheed Town Center.
  • If you are on an Expo Line train, get off at Broadway/Commercial Drive station and transfer to a Millenium line train. Board the Millenium line train Eastbound to Lougheed Town Center. Feel free to ask someone if you're lost or confused, or call us.
  • Once you arrive at Lougheed Town Center Station, board the 97-B line bus. Get off at Newport Village (about 15 minutes). At that point you can either transfer onto the C25 bus to Bentley/Alderside stop or give us a call, 604.461.2652 and we can come meet you.

How close are the nearest shops?
  • The shops at Newport Village are a short 20 minute walk from Dockside Retreat. When approaching Old Orchard park by foot, follow along the paved walking trail which will take you behind the City of Port Moody's Rec Center, in which you take a left at the soccer field. The end of this short path is at the main road in which you can find the numerous shops.
What types of wild animals inhabit the nearby woods and ocean?
  • Our nearby forest friends range from bears, deer, wolves, coyotes, raccoons and squirrels. For our oceanic friends, we often see herons, seals and various smaller bird life and fish.
Is smoking allowed at Dockside Retreat?
  • No. The suites and property at Dockside Retreat are smoke free.
Is Dockside Retreat wheelchair accessible?
  • Unfortunately, no. Dockside Retreat is not wheelchair accessible.
I have allergies, should I be concerned?
  • If you have any allergies, please inform us before your stay and we will make every effort to accommodate you. There will also be a dog on premise. Should you have any concerns or questions, please contact us prior to booking your stay.
